DENTAL CLINIC

The JMA Dental Clinic sees approximately 250 patients per month.  However, this number increases when brigades come from the U.S. 

The Clinic is staffed by one full-time dentist, Dra. Nohelia Ynestroza.  Also, 2-3 individuals will spend their required year of public service at the JMA Dental Clinic after completing their dental school coursework.

Patients at the JMA Dental Clinic receive tooth extractions, cleanings, fillings, etc. at this time.  The Clinic has 4 chairs and an x-ray machine.

MEDICAL CLINIC

The JMA Medical Clinic sees approximately 600 patients per month.  Similar to the Dental Clinic, the Medical Clinic's patient load increases when brigades come from the U.S.

The Clinic is staffed by many wonderful people, including one full-time General Internist, Dra. Xiomara Erazo, one nurse, Yadira Flores, a pharmacist, Dra. Fatima Nuñez, and a social worker, Lic. Josiane Barcelos de Oliveros.  JMA Medical Clinic's patients come with both acute and chronic problems.  Acute problems consist of dengue, common colds, skin conditions and rashes, etc.  Chronic problems consist of diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, etc.

Much of the year, the Medical Clinic is also staffed with 2-3 medical students from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Each group of students come for a one-month rotation.  If you would like to know more about this program, go to the VCOM page.
