JMA Clinic: Day Care Program Begins

This week, at the JMA Clinic, Dr. Xiomara and the rest of the crew will begin a new adventure--a Day Care Program.  Since many of our mothers in the Nutrition Program have new skills from the vocational training in sewing and in working in a hair salon, some are not able to work because they have children at home with no one to watch over them.

Beginning February 3, we will launch a new program for about 15 children 2 to 3 years old.  Sonia Rosa, wife of Rene Rosa who teaches at Baxter, will be the teacher.  She has several years experience as a primary school teacher in Santa Rosa de Copan.  Edda Rodriguez will be her assistant and will prepare the food that we will serve the children.  They will receive a nutrtious breakfast, a mid-morning snack, a nutritious lunch and and afternoon snack.

We are excited about adding this very important part of the Nutrition Program as soon as possible.  If you would like to help support this program, we need about $1,500 per month until we can grow the program to be self-sufficient.  Keep us in your prayers.

Blessings to all,
Steve
